Starting with version 13 of the Cypress app, Cypress will begin enforcing data recording restrictions that block certain third-party products and services in order to protect our intellectual property. The vast majority of our user base including the broader Cypress ecosystem will see no impact from these changes.
Cypress was founded 9 years ago to help developers deliver higher quality applications by managing testing at scale. We chose to open-source the Cypress app to facilitate innovation and collective growth through collaboration with the community. Today, with 317 releases under our belt, we're incredibly proud of the thriving community and our internal teams whose collective contributions have shaped the Cypress app into what it is today.
While we take pride in being responsible stewards of the Cypress open-source ecosystem, our commercial product, Cypress Cloud, serves as the financial engine that sustains this community-focused model, ensuring the Cypress app remains a robust and reliable tool for all users.
We champion fair competition and ethical business practices. Our products are designed to align with our open-source mission, competing solely on the value they bring to organizations. In doing so, we take our intellectual property and terms of service as seriously as any other business.
Despite our best efforts to minimize service disruptions to impacted users of these third party services, we have been unable to reach an agreement with the parties responsible for these tools. For Cypress users not using the affected products, there will be no service disruptions or issues.
